Circa 1915 Amsterdam School Pictorial Tapestry

Description
Exquisitely woven circa 1915 Dutch pictorial tapestry of a forest scene with ravens, influenced by the Amsterdam School, a Dutch Expressionist design movement in the early 20th century that was a precursor to the art deco style. Extremely fine flat woven wool knots over a cotton warp and weft, this piece was done by a master weaver. Recently it has been professionally stretched and fitted over a wood frame for wall hanging. Some minor stains along the bottom, possibly due to nails from a previous mounting. Very rare, one of a kind piece.
